FAQ
1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1‑3 business days (carpets); 3‑7 business days (sofas). Shipping: 5‑10 days for carpets; sofas via freight: 7‑20 business days (contiguous US). You’ll receive tracking via email.
2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout based on weight/destination. Sofas may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders.
3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states.
4. Do items require assembly?
-
Fabric corner sofas: Yes, require assembly (attaching legs, sections). Instructions included. Often requires two people.
-
Wool carpets: No assembly – just unroll.
5. What flammability standards do your products meet?
| Product | Applicable Standards | Labeling |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric corner sofas | 16 CFR Part 1640 (California TB 117‑2013), 16 CFR 1303 | Permanent label: “Complies with U.S. CPSC requirements for upholstered furniture flammability.” (≥1/8″ type) |
| Wool carpets (large, >6ft or >24 sq ft) | 16 CFR Part 1630 | Pass: letter “T” on label. Fail: permanent “FLAMMABLE” label. |
| Wool carpets (small, ≤6ft or ≤24 sq ft) | 16 CFR Part 1631 | Same labeling as above. |
6. Do your products require a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)?
Yes. As general‑use products (not intended for children 12 and under), both fabric sofas and wool carpets are accompanied by a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) available upon request. The GCC certifies compliance with:
-
Sofas: 16 CFR Part 1640 (flammability) and 16 CFR Part 1303 (lead in surface coatings ≤90 ppm)
-
Carpets: 16 CFR Part 1630 or 1631 (flammability)
GCC is based on testing or a reasonable testing program.
7. Do you have a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC)?
If any product is intended for children 12 and under, we provide a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) based on third‑party testing at a CPSC‑accepted laboratory. This would include CPSIA lead (<100 ppm substrate, ≤90 ppm coating), phthalates (<0.1%), and 16 CFR Part 1130 tracking labels.
8. What are the flame retardant disclosure requirements?
California requires upholstered furniture sold in the state to bear a label stating whether the product contains added flame retardant chemicals. Our sofas comply: if no added flame retardants, the label reads “contains NO added flame retardant chemicals”; if added, the label will so state.
9. What are the FTC textile labeling requirements?
All textile products (sofa covers, carpets) comply with 16 CFR Part 303 (Textile Fiber Products Identification Act). Permanent labels disclose:
-
Fiber content (e.g., “100% Polyester” or “100% Wool”)
-
Country of origin (e.g., “Made in China”)
-
Manufacturer name or RN number
10. Do your products require care labels?
Yes. Textile products comply with 16 CFR Part 423 (FTC Care Labeling Rule) where applicable, providing permanent care instructions (e.g., “Vacuum regularly,” “Spot clean only”).
